Hi this is Ted Peterson, Connecticut's Favorite Family Magician! As promised I have a new party tips video for you. Super Party Tips 4 is finally here!
Lately I've been getting a bunch of phone calls and emails asking about the space requirements of setting up and performing my show!
So with that in mind I took my camera to a real magic show I performed in Burlington CT and shot a live video of my set up, showing the perfect area to have my magic program.
Now not every show is going to have the same space which is ok because I'm extremely flexible. I'm just showing you the ideal space.
Ohhh and at the end there is a really magical appearance of my Dove Ciniamon! I hope you enjoy!

Back from North Carolina
Yes I was. I just got a little side-tracked over the last week.
You see, yesterday I made it back home from a visit with my brother and his family in North Carolina! I had a great visit with him and his kids, Jake & Morgan. The weather was beautiful but a little cold at night. Not like the snow we are getting here in Connecticut though.
I was able to spend some real quality time with my brother, Trevor. He is doing much better now after being injured in Afghanistan 5 months ago. He is up and around now and able to take his new dog for walks around the neighborhood. We spent some time talking, had taco soup for dinner and took a trip to the bookstore.
Morgan is really into scary movies so we watched a few horror movies I took with me. She also showed me how to check my email with my cell phone! Jake likes chess and has one of the biggest sets I've ever played with! It is huge! Jake is getting really good and even beat me once! We had alot of fun!
Now that I'm back I can get back on track. There will be another Super Fun Parties Video coming really soon. The next one will be on When and How to send the invitations! It will be filled with tips to make your next party Magic!
I'm also going to be posting that magic trick video soon! Its a neat torn and restored newspaper routine anyone can learn in few minutes! The kids will love it!

Lets face it, the summer is barely over and you need to get your fall schedule finished quickly, as the holiday season is right around the corner. Now another year has passed. You need to make sure this Halloween event is the best ever. So how do you top last year's event?
Here are 3 Elements that will Practically Guarantee You Have A Fantastic Halloween Event!
First of all you want to create the proper Halloween Atmosphere for your guest. This should include decorations. You can pick these up fairly cheap at a Dollar Store or if you're like me, you can use the ones from last year. I use Jack O Lanterns, Cobwebs, hang Bats and Ghost! If you have a fog machine you can easily set it up on a timer. Some spooky music will go a long way in setting the mood. If you have younger kids you may want to use funny Halloween songs like "The Monster Mash". Another thing that helps set the mood is the food you serve, for example a cake shaped like a headstone filled with gummy worms! You can finds all kinds of thing to serve by doing a quick search on google. Next you should make sure you have some kind of contests with some prizes! This is huge! Don't forget the prizes. Again you can pick up some really good stuff at your local Dollar store. If you're having a larger community event, you could even approach some local business and ask them to donate a prize for your event! A restaurant would donate dinner for two gift card. A health club might donate a free membership! Check around you'll be surprised! You can do the classic costume contest. You could have a raffle. You can do a coloring contest for kids! We’re going to continue with our Tips for a Great Party. Today's tip is going to save you a lot of stress by helping you to manage all the kids who come to your party.
Great Party Planning Tip #6
This might be one of those things where parents look at me and say, "What?" Believe me when I say that this bit of advise is worth its weight in gold! It has the ability to reduce your stress level more than anything else in these emails.
Why? Having cake and ice cream as the last activity ensures that you'll have the LEAST amount of time to deal with all those sugar-filled bodies!
I've seen parties where the charming group of 20 five year olds suddenly turn into sugar "blurs" because they're running around so much after the cake. It really becomes quite difficult to handle them all sometimes and it can reduce the best planned party to chaos in a heartbeat!
You want to have cake and ice cream about a half hour before the party is scheduled to end. Then by that time the parents will be there to pick up the little ones. It is far easier for them to deal with their child than it is for you to deal with all 20!
You'll be glad you decided to have cake later rather than early.

Stage Left Magic's Tips for A Great Party Part 4
Hi,Today were going to be talking about one of the best things you can do to ensure you have a great party!
Great Party Planning Tip #4 How to Structure the Party!
Let's face it. In my opinion, this is the key to the vault. There have been so many parties I've been to where the kids are just left alone to run around for an hour or so until the meal is served.
To me, this is a HUGE mistake. To maintain
control (as well as your sanity), its necessary to
structure the party from top to bottom. This will
keep the kids focused and occupied throughout
your party.
Here is a good structure to follow. For example, a 1:00 -3:00 party would go something like this: 1:00-1:30 Games, 1:30-2:15 Entertainment (pinata, magic show, movie, etc.), 2:15-3:00 food/refreshments, 3:00-3:30 Cake and Presents...More on cake and Ice Cream later.
You may notice that the major activity is scheduled at least 30 minutes into the party. This is important due to traffic delays and other minor mishaps that could cause a few of your guest to arrive late. This gives you an additional 30 minutes for guest to arrive. You might want to use this time for a quick game of Simon Says or Duck-Duck-Goose. By structuring the entire party, the event will be
more memorable and special for your child
because his/her friends will remember all of the
'cool things' they did at your party. You will
become Super Mom or Super Dad, the hero and
envy of all the other parents!
